Water Rescue Squad Fundraising Evnet

Help our Local Waterford Heroes Save Lives

As you can imagine, hands-on CPR in a moving ambulance is especially difficult. Lives are endangered and can be lost when speed changes, corners and bumps make it nearly impossible to maintain a consistent rhythm.

That is why the Waterford Lions Club are holding a special event to help acquire two LUCAS devices for local emergency response vehicles. The device provides the consistent rhythm to ensure an uninterrupted flow of blood and oxygen to the patient’s heart and brain.

This constant blood flow helps avoid neurological damage and frees up rescue personnel to focus on other tasks without a pause or gap in compressions.
You can read a real life successss story at: www.prohealthcare.org/emergency-services-lucas

The Lions hope you will join them and support their fundraising efforts for these lifesaving devised.

Working with this team of talented professionals, we are proud to carry out Jim’s vision for the future.

Jim’s dream of finding cures for cancer is shared by millions. Although we have not yet achieved this goal, every day we get a little bit closer and continue to honor his inspiring words, “Don’t Give Up . . . Don’t Ever Give Up!” ®

REMEMBERING JIMMY V

don't ever give up jimmy VJim Valvano’s spirit, drive and determination carried him through his brief but illustrious life. From a determined little boy following his dreams, to becoming a coach, to a victorious leader who carried out his life goal by winning the 1983 NCAA Basketball National Championship, Jim achieved all the goals he set for himself.

Jim never gave up on his dreams. His final triumph came towards the end of his glorious life when he announced the formation of The V Foundation for Cancer Research at the 1993 ESPY Awards. Founded by ESPN and Jim, The V Foundation was established to carry out Jim’s final dream—to defeat cancer.

The success of The V Foundation is built upon Jim’s ability to personally touch the lives of others. Jim’s spirit lives on through his family, friends and the numerous supporters and fans who remember him. His famous words, “Don’t give up . . .Don’t ever give up,” are not only a motivation to those battling cancer, but they also serve as encouragement for those who want to help in the fight against this terrible disease.
